Coupons In This Sunday Paper

I am very axcited about some of the coupons in today's paper (3/13/11) one of them is the .50/1 Maruchan Yakisoba coupon. If they have it at Wal-Mart like they have in the past for .50, you can land some free noodles! I love these, the rest of my family... Not so much. But hey, more for me.

The $1/1 New Hidden Family Farmhouse Originals dressing is getting mme excited too, I haven't tried them yet, but they look really yummy. Anne it doesn't expire till may, so keep your eyes open for a le on that, especially since it doesn't specify a size.

I don't have a cat or a dog, so I am nit sure how much the food is, but ther is a high value coupon for the, I think it is new, Purina One beyOnd dry dog or cat food... $3/1 any size any variety of beyOnd dry dog food, and $3/1 any size any variety of beyOnd dry cat food! If they are free or even close to free, I think I will grab some and donate it to my local animal shelter.

There are even a few Target coupons, and as long as your store allows you to stack a store coupon with a manufacturers coupon, you
should be able to get a great deal on CoverGirl cosmetics items, Olay Pro-X or Regenerist, and Herbal Essence or Pantene.

And lastly, the B1G1 Herbal Essence or Aussie product/Styler.

Keep your eyes open for sales to match these coupons in the next few month and you should get great savings!!!

You can go to Grocery Smarts to watch your favorite store for the best sales each week!

Frugal or Fraudulent?

Is that "deal" you found worth your integrity?

Wal-Mart just changed their coupon policy a few week ago, when I first read it I was so excited that I would be able to make sure and get my overage every time and that I wouldn't have to worry about them freaking out over my coupons. Them I thought, How many people are going to take advantage of this?

Maybe this new coupon policy won't be the best thing...

I recently heard if a guy who went to Wal-Mart and got over 90 travel size packs of Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets, he had a $3.00 off coupon for each one... He had over $150.00 in overage... Nothing to attach it to, he just wanted the cash back. The cashier and the customer service manager were rude in addressing the issue, while they didn't have a rite to treat the man the way he was treated, you can totally see where they were coming from.

This new policy just reminds me of how careful we need to be when being thrifty, frugal and doing our best to stay afloat in this crazy economy. I am passionate about coupons and they have allowed my family to become more self-reliant and take control of our finances as well as our lives. But it makes me d when people take advantage of it, like this man clearly did, in my opinion.

There are fraudulent coupons all over the place, and because of these coupons a lot of stores will no longer accept printed coupons, even when they are legitimate, because they won't be re-imbursed for them, and the stokers cannot sit there and look at every single printer generated coupon to see if it real, so they simply won't take them anymore.

I can't help but feel that it is just a natter of time until one of three things happens if people keep abusing Wal-Mart's new policy.
1) Companies will start limiting the price and/or quantity on every single coupon they print, resulting absolutely no chance for overage ever, and very few deals like we have all been able to get before.
2) Wal-Mart will change their coupon policy back to what it was.
3) Many different stores will notice, and a lot of different stores may stop allowing overage all-together.

While none of these scenarios is favorable for any of us shoppers, the companies involved will have just reason to do so.

Now I ask again, are these deals worth your integrity? Ask yourself if the deal you just found is too good to be true, if it sounds like it might be, then it probably is.

In our endless efforts to stay on top of our bills and our finances, and keep our families lifestyles the best they can be, we need to strive to keep our integrity in tact. I started coupling because we needed the extra money.... But I would never think about robbing a bank or stealing from the store to save money. When you use a fraudulent coupon, you are stealing. Plain and simple. And people abuse the overage and other policies for whatever reason, you may be getting a great deal on something, but think about the potential repercussions, they could affect everyone.

Helping Others

Ther are times in everyone's lives, some people more often than others, when you really have an oportunity to help someone else. Serve them, or share your jnowledge with them to help them become a better person, and feel better about themselves. I've had many opportunies to help others in the past, different ways of serving others and teaching them. But, for me, the times when I've helped people most is when I have been able to teach them something new, or re-teach them something they already knew in a new and different way that they could actually understand it better in order to take full advantage of their new found knowledge.

One of the biggest times in my life when I as able to help people the most was a few years ago when I was blessed with the opportunity to serve a full Tim LDS mission. I went back east, and had the amazing privilege to get to know some wonderful people and share with them my deep and lasting beliefs. While I was out, I got to serve people and as I served them, I grew to love them. All of them. It was an incredible experience.

Now, I'm blessed with chance to serve as a teacher in my church. Once a month I get to stand at the head of a classroom full of these amazing women and share my testimony and exchange experiences with them. They are all so wonderful, and I feel so dwarfed by so many of them, that I feel inadequate sometimes about the fact that I am teaching them... But when I say just the right thing at just the right time, I can see in their eyes, that I somehow helped to give them hope...

That's what I think is really at the heart of it anytime we help anyone in anyway. We are bringing hope!

In that moment that we let ourselves out of our comfort zone just a bit and let ourselves give to another person, we bring that hope to them. We let them know they can make it through this, they can do it, and they are not alone!

I am now teaching Free Coupon classes for Grosery Smarts, and while I do get a paid a little, it is not that much. I didn't start teaching them to make money though. When I first started shopping with coupons, it happened because of a friend. She was hosting a class at her house and invited me. I was soj skeptical and I really didn't want to go. The only reason I ended up going at all, is because she was one of my best friends, I had not seen her in a long while, and on top of that, the few times we almost got together the few months before that, we ended up cancelling for one reason or another. So I decided I would go, but on,y to show that I was a good friend, and that I supported her. The first time I came home from the grocery store with a car load full of groceries for under $15.00, I took a picture and posted it all over my Facebook page. After that I started getting people wanting to know how I saved so much money, so I hosted a class... Then another one... And I still had people asking me how. I wonted to be able to help people feel that hope! Help them feel that they could take charge of something as big as their finances. It is such an empowering and freeing feeling. I just want yo share it with everyone.

I want to share hope!!!

City Deals

If you haven't heard of City Deals yet, you should really try it! Great deals for entertainment and actives around your local area! My husband and I were able to take our children out to Chuck-E-Cheese's for only $14.00.... Pizza, drinks, and more than 60 game tokens, I believe it was a $50.00 value, about a 75% savings.... Sorry if my math is wrong on the percentage... But you don't have to be a mathematician to know what a great deal that is! Also, I just got a $20.00 gift card to a local restaurant for just $5.00! You can sign up for free from the link at the bottom of this blog.

Smith's - Only $2.99 for 12 Rolls of Charmin!

I got a 12 pack of Charmin Double Rolls for only $2.99! Can you tell I'm excited? Here is how you do it!

1)Log into or create an account at Smith's, (You'll need your Rewards Card.)
2)Download the e-coupon $3/1 Charmin. It will automatically download to your card.
3)Go to Smith's and pick up your bag 12 pack bag of Charmin, double rolls

4)They are on sale right now for $5.99 (at my store they are usually more than $8.00)

5) Go to the register, once they scan your T.P. and your card, the coupon will go through automatically and your total will be just $2.99 (before tax).

Doesn't that feel good!? You just saved about $5.00 on that toilet paper! I was on a coupon high with this deal, let me tell you!

NOTE: You can only use each e-coupon once, and only download one of each e-coupon to your card. So don't get more than one package of toilet paper and expect it to all be $2.99... Though that would be AWESOME!

Introduction of Randomness

Welcome to my blog! Hopefully I'll be able to put everything I do on here, in a way you;ll be able to understand and enjoy. I've only been using coupons for 4 and a half months, but since that time, out lives have changed SO MUCH for the better! Paying off debt and thriving on such a small budget ($300/ month) is something I would never see! Not only do we have relief in our hearts and food on our shelves (which is sad to say we didn't always) we are able to afford some luxeries now that we wouldn't have before. My husband got me an i-Pad recently, just as a thank you/I love you gift. It was very sweet, now we wouldn't be very frugal if we did things like that all the time, but we don't, so once in a while, I think it is OK to splurge. (though I still have guilt sometimes about it, admittedly not enough to return it, but what are you gonna do?)

Well, this concludes my sad and short first post... but stay tuned for some GREAT things to come. Look forward to seeing you soon!... in a matter of speaking.

Rebecca!
